Privacy Policy — Daily Psalm (Salmo Diário)
Effective as of October 10, 2026 (version 1.2, with the day's liturgy and reading aloud)
App: Salmo Diário (Daily Psalm) · package com.playdude.salmodiario
Developer: PlayDude
Contact: lgpd@playdude.com.br
Summary: Salmo Diário shows the responsorial psalm and the other readings of each day's Catholic liturgy, and can read them aloud. It does not ask for sign-up, does not create an account and has no purchases. Your readings, the reminder time and your preferences are stored only on the device itself.
The app shows a banner ad at the bottom, served by Google AdMob. Google's ads SDK collects some technical data from the device, described in section 3 — this is the app's only data collection.
1. Data that stays only on your device
The app stores in the device's private storage, only so it can work:
- Psalms read — the psalms you confirmed with "Finish reading" (or listened to), with the date and reference, used to show the total, the calendar, the history and the achievements.
- Reading days — the dates on which you opened the app.
- Reminder — whether it is on and the chosen time.
- Preferences — the text size and the voice chosen for reading aloud.
- Texts and audio already downloaded — a copy of the liturgy of the days you opened and of the audio you listened to, so they open without internet.
This information is never transmitted to PlayDude. It is gone when you clear the app's data or uninstall it. If Android backup is turned on on your device, the system itself keeps a copy of it in your Google account and restores it when you reinstall the app; that copy is yours, is subject to Google's rules, and PlayDude has no access to it.
2. What goes over the internet
- The day's liturgy: to download the psalm, the readings, the gospel and the prayers, the app queries an external daily liturgy service, sending only the date. No data of yours goes with it; as with any internet access, that service sees the connection's IP address.
- Reading aloud: when you tap "Listen", the app requests the audio from a PlayDude voice server, hosted on Cloudflare, sending only the date, the part of the liturgy and the chosen voice. The audio is produced by a speech synthesis service (Microsoft Azure) from the liturgical text; nothing about you is sent to it. As with any internet access, the server sees the connection's IP address, which PlayDude does not keep. When the audio is not available, the reading is done by the phone's own voice, without going over the internet.
- Daily reminder: it is a local notification, scheduled on the phone itself. There is no notification server.
- Sharing: when you choose to share, the image and text go to the app you choose (for example, WhatsApp), under its rules.
- Ads: the bottom banner is requested from Google AdMob (section 3).
3. Ads (Google AdMob)
To choose, show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK, built into the app, may collect and send to Google:
- Device identifiers — the Android advertising ID and technical identifiers of the app;
- Approximate location — derived from the IP address (never GPS);
- Interactions with the ad — views and taps;
- Diagnostic data — technical information about the SDK's performance.
This data is handled by Google under its policy: how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services. In the Google Play Data safety declaration it appears as collected and shared for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, always encrypted in transit.
Your choices
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before any ad. You can review your choice in Settings → Privacy options.
- In any country, you can limit personalized ads or delete the advertising ID in Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).
- The ad always stays at the bottom, in a reserved space: it never covers the psalm text, and the app has no full-screen ads.
4. What the app does not do
- It has no in-app purchases.
- It has no login, account or sign-up in this version, and does not ask for an e-mail, phone number or name.
- It does not use PlayDude's own statistics or crash reporting tools.
- It does not access contacts, photos, camera, microphone, files or exact location (GPS).
- PlayDude does not sell anyone's data.
5. App permissions
| Permission | What it is for |
|---|---|
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE |
Downloading the day's psalm and the ad; knowing whether there is a connection. |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS |
Showing the daily reminder. It is only requested when you turn the reminder on, and can be denied or turned off at any time. |
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, WAKE_LOCK |
Rescheduling the reminder after the phone restarts and delivering it on time. |
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS |
Used by the Google AdMob SDK for the bottom ad (advertising ID and Android's ad privacy APIs). |
FOREGROUND_SERVICE |
Declared by a Google library included by the ads SDK for short background tasks. The app does not run a visible service of its own. |
com.playdude.salmodiario.DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION |
Internal permission generated by the AndroidX library to protect the app itself. It gives no access to any data. |
6. Children
Salmo Diário is a prayer app for the general public; the target audience declared on Google Play is 13 years or older, and the app is not directed at children.
7. Data deletion and your rights
PlayDude keeps no server or database with user information. Device data is removed in Android Settings → Apps → Salmo Diário → Storage → Clear data, or by uninstalling. Ad data stays with Google: you can delete the advertising ID in Android settings and manage your data at myaccount.google.com. For any request about your data, write to lgpd@playdude.com.br.
This applies to the rights provided by the LGPD (Brazilian Law 13.709/2018), the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA.
8. Changes to this policy
If a future version adds an optional account to sync progress between devices, or collects any other data, this page is updated before the new version reaches the store, and the effective date at the top changes with it.
